In Russia the system of education and training of professional needs development and changes due to the transition of the country to market economy, which requires specialists with up to date qualifications. This article presents data of a study on training and educational needs of employees, working in industry, as well as the experience of Saratov State Technical University (SSTU) in providing lifelong educational programs, which foster inclusion into the modern industrial and business environment.
