Field trials were carried out in Latvia University of Agriculture Training and Research farm Vecauce during years 2001 to 2003. The effect soil deep ploughing and sowing technologies on yield and quality of winter wheat were studied on sod podzolic sandy loam soils with pHKCL 7.0 and 6.5 containing humus content 20 g kgE-1 (2001-2002) and 28 g kgE-1 (2002-2003), phosphorus 161 and 306 mg kgE-1 and potassium 119 and 418 mg kgE-1 of soil, respectively. Winter wheat was grown after clover - timothy mixture. Fields were treated with herbicide Glifoss 3 l haE-1 after harvest of previous crop.
