Field trials were carried out in the Training and Research Farm Vecauce of the Latvia University of Agriculture in 2002-2003. The effects of soil deep ploughing, sowing technology and weed control effect on yield of spring barley were studied on sod podzolic (2002) and sod-calcareous leached (2003) loam soils with soil pHKCL 6.0 and 6.6, containing P 204 and 207 mg kgE-1 and K 96 and 105 mg kgE-1 of soil, humus content 14 g kgE-1 (2002) and 20 g kgE-1 (2003), respectively. Spring barley was grown repeatedly after spring barley.
