Emergence/m2 was significantly affected by varieties, planting dates andtheir interaction. Highest emergence of 13.68 seedling/m2 was recorded bycultivator NM-19-19 while in planting dates highest emergence of 17.75seedlings/m2 was recorded from July 15. In interaction (DxV) highestemergence of 20.5 seedlings/m2 was recorded by NM-19-19 planted on July 15while lowest emergence of 3.75 seedlings/m2 was recorded by M-28 planted onAugust 15. Variety showing maximum of 46.0 days to flowering was M-28.Maximums of 51.19 days to flowering were taken by August 1 planting.Maximum of 7.0 branches/stalk were produced by NM-19-19. In planting datesgreater number of 8.4 branches/stalk were produced by July 1 planted crop.Leaf area was significantly affected by varieties, planting dates and theirinteraction. Highest leaf area of 82.2 cm2 was recorded by NM-92 planted onJuly 15 and lowest leaf area 7.0 cm2 was recorded in variety NM-54 planted onAugust 15. Highest leaf area index of 10.4 was recorded by NM-92 planted onJuly 1 and lowest leaf area index of 0.31 was recorded by NM-54 planted onAugust 15. Height of main stalk was significantly affected by varieties,planting dates and their interaction. Maximum plant height of 80.65 cm wasattained by NM-54 planted on June 1 and minimum plant height of 6.88 cm wasattained by MN-19-19 planted on August 15. The interaction between (DxV)maximum of 8.3 cm pod length was recorded by NM-19-19 planted on July 15and minimum of 4.6 cm pod length was recorded by M-28 planted on August 1.Number of grains per pod was significantly affected by varieties, plantingdates and their interaction. Highest of 11.3 grains/pod were produced by NM-19-19 planted on July 15 lowest of 3.5 grains/pod were produced by NM-54planted on August 1. Number of plants at harvest/m2 was significantlyaffected by varieties and planting dates. In varieties maximum number of 13.12plants/m2 were harvested by NM-19-19 and minimum number of 9.0 plants/m2were harvested by M-28. In planting dates greater number of 17.17 plants/m2were harvested by July 15 planted crop land minimum number of 3.04plants/m2 were harvested in August 15 planting. One thousand grains weightwas significantly affected by varieties, planting dated and their interaction.Highest of 42.2 g grain weight was recorded by NM-19-19 planted on July 15while lowest grain weight of 19.3 g was recorded by NM-54 planted on August1. Highest grain yield of 7.6 kg/ha was recorded from NM-19-19 planted onJuly 15 and lowest grain yield of 7.6 kg/ha was recorded from M-28 plantedon August 1. Highest talk yield of 2351.0 kg/ha was recorded by M-28 plantedon June 1 and lowest stalk yield of 14.58 kg/ha was recorded by NM-92planted on August 15. Harvest index was significantly affected by varieties,planting dates and their interaction. Highest harvest index value of 11.85% wasrecorded in variety NM-19-19 and lowest harvest index value of 6.09% wasrecorded by M-28. Maximum harvest index value of 17.68% was recorded fromJuly 15 planted crop and minimum harvest of 2.91% was recorded from August1 planting. In interaction (DxV) highest harvest index value of 25.77% wasrecorded by NM-19-19 planted on July 15 and lowest harvest index value of1.58% was recorded by NM-54 planted on August 1. Seed quality (visualobservation) was significantly affected by varieties and planted dates. Varietyshowing good quality seed (2.14) was NM-19-19 while fair quality seed (3.0)was recorded by NM-54 and M-28. In planting dates, good quality seed (2) wasobserved in July 15 planted crop while poor quality seed (4.19) was observedin August 1 planting.
