Esca is a very serious disease that is being controlled by the application of sodium arsenite, a highly toxic pesticide. In this work it was studied the response of Phaeoacremonium to two pesticides: sodium arsenite and thiabendazole, another pesticide, with lower toxicity than sodium arsenite. Thiabendazole has shown high efficiency in reducing/inhibiting mycelial when compared with sodium arsenite. Our results suggest that thiabendazole could become a potential treatment alternative to sodium arsenite
