Effects of supplemented lard and corn oil combination in the diets on broilers

Experiment was conducted to study the effects of supplemented lard and corn oil combination in the diets on broilers. The experimental diets were isocaloric and isonitrogenous. The results from this study demonstrated that feed intake, feed conversion, nitrogen and energy intake were nor significantly different, but the trend to increase with increasing oil content in the diet. However, the differences in weight gain among treatment were significant (P0.05). The weight gain of chicks which fed diet B had the highest (43.26 g/bird/day). The carcass composition of broilers showed that the chicks which fed diet B had the best carcass weight. But the percentage of abdominal fat pad was nor significantly different among the experimental diets.
