Macrobenthic fauna were qualitatively sampled seasonally at Tangkhen sanday beach, Phuket. Collections were conducted in June (southwest monsoon) and in December (northeast monsoon) for 1998-1999 during lowest tide period. A transect, perpendicular to the beach comprising 7 stations with equidistance in between, was located. Sediment was collected for determination of grain size composition and organic contents. Sediment characteristic comprised mainly muddy sand to very fine sand. Silt-clay percentage was pronounced at the inner most station but decreased in seaward direction. Organic contents ranged from 2.00-3.85 percent of dry weight. No correlation was found between organic content and sediment grain size. Family density ranged from 231.11-970.85 individual/square m. Polychaete was the most dominant group (67.79 percent) and found frequency, followed by micro-crustaceans and molluscs respectively. In terms of spatial and temporal distribution, no significant correlation was found for all organism treatment and polychaete group treatment.
