Research on Management of Cropping System for the Control of Itchgrass (Rottboellia cochinchinensis) carried out in both early and late rainy season, at the National Corn and Sorghum Research Center (Suwan Farm), Pakchong, Nakhonratchasima, to study on the control of itchgrass through the evaluation of itchgrass seedling number in soil sample under various covered crops grown for 3 consecutive years, using tilled and no-till management. The experimental design laid out in RCB. composed of 6 treatments with 4 replications. The treatments included; 1) corn/tilled 2) corn/no-till 3) lablab bean/no-till 4) mimosa/no-till 5) sword bean/no-till and 6) velvet bean/no-till. The result revealed that from 3 years experiments, yield of corn from no-till system trended to be higher than tilled system (571 and 642 kg/rai), corn yield from early season of each year was higher than late rainy reason (517, 519, 462, 505 and 735, 903 kg/rai, respectively). However, mean corn yield of the 3rd year was highest (819 kg/rai). It also found that in soil sampling of 0-10 cm deep had more itchgrass seedlings than in 10-20 and 20-30 cm deep all through 3 years (9.3, 7.2 and 0.8 plants respectively), but less than on soil surface which highest itchgrass seedling (22.1 plants). Six cover crops reduce more itchgrass seedling after the 3rd year of covering, especially Lablab bean, mimosa, Sword bean and velvet bean. Therefore, the number of itchgrass seedling under 6 cover crops were not different after 3 years.
