Effect of rubbish on the Okra growth and pod yield was studied at the Thammasat Rangsit Campus under field conditions from November 1996 to January 1997. Using the Randomized Complete Block (RCB) experiment. Six treatments viz (1) control (no fertilizer), (2) 30 kg/rai chemical fertilizer (15-15-15) (3) 1000 kg/rai animal excrement manure (4) 1000 kg/rai rubbish, (5) 500 kg/rai animal excrement manure and (6) 500 kg/rai rubbish were arranged within 3 replications. The height, stem perimeter, pod number per plant, pod weight and pod yield per rai of the Okra were measured in order to determine the effect of rubbish in comparison to the other 5 treatments. The results showed that the 1000 kg/rai animal excrement manure could give the highest height and stem perimeter whereas the 1000 kg/rai rubbish and 30 kg/rai chemical fertilizer (15-15-15) came into the second order and the control (no fertilizer) gave the 2 lowest characters. The treatment group order giving the pod number/plant, pod weight and pod yield/rai from hight to low was (1) the 1000 kg/rai animal excrement manure, 1000 kg/rai rubbish and 30 kg/rai chemical fertilizer (15-15-15), (2) the 500 kg/rai animal excrement manure and 500 kg/rai rubbish and (3) the control (no fertilizer).
