The number, the height and the thickness of raspberry shoots (Samodiva variety) as dependent of the rate of applied nitrogen have been studied in a response curve type field experiment. The experiment included 7 treatments and was carried out on a gray forest soil. All treatments received 70 kg P205/0.1 ha and 30 kg K20/0.1 ha. The rates of 0, 4, 8, 12, 16, 20 and 24 kg N/0.1 ha have been tested. The results show that the application of 12 kg N/0.1 ha provides the highest number and biggest height and thickness of the shoots. The higher rates of nitrogen were not more successful and are not needed for the formation of the shoots.
