The influence of the rate of phosphorus on the number, the height and the thickness of the stem of raspberry plants (Samodiva variety) has been studied in a response curve type field experiment. The experiment was carried out on a gray forest soil and included 7 treatments. All treatments received 16 kg N/0.1 ha as ammonium nitrate applied every year and 30 kg K20/0.1 ha applied as KCl twice-during the first year before planting the rapberry and during the third year. Phosphorus was applied as triple superphosphate only once before planting the raspberry in the following rates: 0, 5, 10, 20, 40, 60, 80 kg P205/0.1 ha.The results show that the rates of 10, 20 and 40 kg P205/0.1 ha increase considerably the number and the height of the raspberry shoots. The thickness of the stem was also increased slightly. During the third year after planting the rate of 40 kg P205/0.1 ha gave the biggest number and height of the rapberry shoots.
