[Tendencies of maize grain production in Belarus]

In the conditions of economic reforms the animal breeding as a branch of agriculture encounters certain difficulties due to the on-going adaptation to the market conditions. It is possible to change the situation in Belarus only by means of increasing the competitiveness of the produce due to reducing the costs of produce and increasing its quality. In view of above it becomes critically important to provide farms with sufficient volumes of fodder first of all cereals necessary for making concentrates. There are many options of solving this problem. One of them is extending of corn production which has many advantages over other cereals. This crop is going to be grown not only for fodder but also for satisfying the domestic demand for seeds
