The effect of water deficiency and cadmium on black currant plants of the cultivar "Lentyaj" and also calcium nitrate effect on the neutralization of the stress factors negative effect was studied. The observations of the growth and development, cadmium accumulation in leaves and fruit were made. As a result of the researches the relatively high level of the resistance of black currant plants to the above named negative factors was discovered. It was shown that the deficiency in water had the greatest effect to plant condition, while the soil cadmium pollution intensified this effect only in concentration of 4 limited permissible concentrations. The application of calcium nitrate positively affected the growth of black currant plants, contributed to the reduction of cadmium concentration in leaves
