Gelvonauskiene, D. | Stanys, V.(Lithuanian Inst. of Horticulture, Babtai (Lithuania))
In 2001-2004 there were investigated 32 sour cherry cultivars of different origin for resistance to leaf spot, brown rot and shot-hole at the collection of the Lithuanian Institute of Horticulture. During the period of the trial different meteorological conditions were observed, which affcted the development and spreading of diseases pathogens. Cultivars sensitivity to leaf spot and shot-hole was estimated according to intensity of injures on the leaves, and to brown rot according to number of injured one year shoots on a tree. The obtained data show, that sour cherry cultivars "Maraska", "Oblachinskaya" and "Vytenu zvaigzde" with the complex resistance to leaf spot, brown rot and shot-hole are the most suitable for ecological horticulture in Lithuania. Sour cherry cultivars "Maraska", "Oblachinskaya" and "Vytenu zvaigzde" can be involved in breeding programs as a sources of the complex resistance to leaf spot, brown rot and shot-hole, "Griot ukrainskij" - resistnace to leaf spot and brown rot, "Samsonovka", "Minister von Podbelskij", "Osthemer Weichsel", "Koeroeser", "Lucyna", "Rovesnica", "Kati", "Vielein" - resistance to brown rot and shot-hole. Cultivars "Griot ukrainskij", "Sysmadinka", "Minister von Podbelskij", "Kirsa", "Rovesnica" and "Vielein" can be used in breeding as a source of high resistance to brown rot
