Hristov, N. | Mladenov, N.(Naucni institut za ratarstvo i povrtarstvo, Novi Sad (Serbia and Montenegro))
Twenty winter wheat cultivars developed at the breeding centres in Novi Sad and Kragujevac, Serbia (Serbia and Montenegro) were grown in five locations in Serbia (Novi Sad, Indjija, Sremska Mitrovica, Kragujevac and Zitoradja) during 1998, 1999, and 2000. The sedimentation value was determined according to Zeleny, while wet gluten was measured on the Glutomatic apparatus. The highest average values of sedimentation and wet gluten were recorded in the genotypes Zlatka and Milica, respectively. The AMMI analysis was used for analysis of genotype x environment interactions. The AMMI analysis did not reveal any large differences in sedimentation value among the genotypes either for the main effect or the interaction. In the case of wet gluten, however, the genotypes were at a large distance from the average wet gluten value and the null value on the PCA 1 axis, indicating there were significant differences among them with respect to the main effect and interaction. The genotypes Kremna and Evropa 90 were found to be stable and to have above-average values of sedimentation and wet gluten, respectively. The highest level of genotype stability was recorded at the Novi Sad site.
