The paper shows the effect of bacterization and liming on the yield of red clover and lucerne as well as on the total number of microorganisms and the number of azotobacter in the rhizospheric soil of these plants. The correlation between the yield of red clover and lucerne and the number of microorganisms was determined, too. In the rhizospheric soil of red clover with bacterization and liming, both the number of azotobacter and the total number of bacteria increased. In the rhizospheric soil of lucerne with bacterization and liming, only the number of azotobacter increased. Compared to the control, the yield of raw forage increased with both plants. There is a positive correlation between the yield of raw forage of red clover and the total number of microorganisms and azotobacter, as well as between the yield of raw forage of lucerne and azotobacter.
