At power plant systems, the planetary step gearing which is used as a step up gearing, with built in electromechanical components and transducers, can be considered as mechatronic system component. During operation, the transmission is exposed to the climatic and mechanical influences and load fluctuations. External temperature and wind velocities changes significantly influence the working characteristics. Installing the transducers of non-electrical into electrical quantities enables generation and processing of signals which are required for control and system monitoring.
