Phenotypic variability of the yield components in wheat in different environment conditions. [Master thesis]
2004
Perlaki, Z.
For 28 divergent wheat genotypes five yield components are analyzed, namely, stem height, spike length, number of grains per spike, grain weight per spike and spike index. Most of the genotypes exhibited good stability. However, cultivated varieties (genotypes) appeared to be more stable than spontaneous (wild) relatives. The highly significant mean square values, using ANOVA, were founded for years, genotypes, as well as, the genotype/environment (GE) interaction. Years were the main source of total variation. That was proven using PCA analysis, as well. After cluster analysis all the genotypes grouped according to phenotypic similarities. Highly significant correlation values were denoted between the most of the examined traits.
