In this study lines, testers and hybrids were examined for resistance to the rhizomania. The amount of BNYVV present was estimated by ELISA test. Line x tester analysis was used to investigate general combining ability of parents and specific combining ability of crosses. It was also helpful in estimating various types of gene effects. Proportional contribution to total variability of lines, testers and their interactions was also examined by this method.
