Production of Norway spruce (Picea abies [L.] Karst.) seedlings on substrate mixes using growth stimulants

We evaluated the growth of Norway spruce seedlings on peat and bark substrates, the mixtures of both substrates alone or with agroperlite. We examined several quantitative traits (seedling diameters and heights), the number of seedlings per unit area, main root lengths, number of axial shoots and dry weight of shoots and roots. Another experiment aimed at testing the effect of biostimulants supplied by the Jaminex Company. The experiment was established with three replications. Peat was found to be the most suitable substrate for Norway spruce seedlings. Positive effects of biostimulants were highly significant on almost all tested substrate mixtures.
