Determination of fosetyl-aluminium in the presence of folpet

A modified spectrophotometric method for determination of fosetyl-aluminium in the presence of folper was developed. The method is based on melting samples in heating furnace at a temperature of 800-900 deg C. The residues obtained were oxidized, and phosphonate from fosetyl-aluminium was converted into phosphate by adding solutions of nitric acid and hydrogen peroxide. Phosphate was determined spectrophotometrically at 440 nm with the molibdate-vanadate reagent. Based on phosphate content (as P2O5), fosetyl-aliminium content can be determined, taking into account that three moles of P2O5 are obtained from two moles of fosetyl-aluminium. Based on the values of relative standard deviation and recovery, it may be concluded that the proposed method is relatively reproducible and accurate.
