New taxons in the species diversity of the wildlife nature reserve of Zasavica [Serbia]
2006
Stankovic, M.
Zasavica is the only habitat of the Aldrovanda vesiculosa plant in Serbia, a plant that was held to be extinct. In 2005 the following new taxons had been found: Thelypteris palustris, Viola elatior, Cephalanthera alba, Orobanche luteum, Craspedacusta sowerbyi, Zeuneriana amplipennis, Rana temporaria, Coluber caspius and Vipera berus ssp. bosniensis. The discovery of the endemic taxon Zeuneriana amplipennis (Br.W.) at the Wildlife Reserve is proof that this species is still present in Posavina, i.e., in Peri-Panonian Serbia. With these three new taxons among the amphibia and reptiles, their overall diversity amounts to 27 taxons with an overall count of 3 present endemic taxons. The taxons that had been newly discovered do not only represent new taxons at the Wildlife Reserve but also ones for the entire region of northern Macva.
