Winter grafting was studied in Quercus frainetto, Q. macranthera, Q. pubescens ssp. anatolica, Q. virgiliana and Q. robur Fastigiata during the years 1999-2004. The yield of one-year-old grafted plants (X/1/0) was evaluated as the percentage of saleable grafted plants. It varied from 75 to 97% in 2004. The best results were achieved by splice dormant grafting of Q. frainetto, Q. robur Fastigiata, Q. pubescens anatolica and Q. virginiana in a propagation house with temperatures above 20 deg C. The yield 97% was achieved in Q. frainetto grafted by cleft under the same conditions. Grafts were sold to nurseries in the Czech Republic. Prices and revenues were evaluated according to the numbers of young grafts (X/1/0) at the heights 15-30 cm, 30-50 cm and 50-80 cm. The best quality oaks of known origin (X/1/1 and X/1/2) served to found a mother stock and clone archives.
