In recent years, with the development of a market economy and globalization, problems of the sale and safety of agricultural products have become serious issues in China. In order to correct these problems, increasing competitiveness and reducing the cost of production are being taken into account, and the establishment of collaborations between farms is being observed in most regions. Now, new types of farmers' professional collaborations have appeared, particularly in the developed area. In this study, the development process of farmers' professional collaborations in China was reviewed. Then, with a case study on a new type of collaboration in the broccoli industry, the effects and problems of this kind of organization were investigated. As a result, it was confirmed that the quality of broccoli improved with the establishment of a strict quality control system. In addition, the cost of production was reduced by the expansion of cultivation areas. A stable supply of raw materials was enabled, and the development of a scale economy was supported. Furthermore, the establishment of a trusting relationship with processing enterprises, and an ensured profit allocation realized the increase of farmers' incomes. On the other hand, the major problems observed in the current farmers' collaborations included a lack of skilled labor and funds, weakness in processing enterprises, and imprecision in the recognition of farmers' collaborations under the law. In order to correct these problems, it is believed that the continuation and reinforcement of government support, mergers with domestic influential domestic companies, the introduction of foreign capitals and legislation concerning farmers' professional collaborations are important.
