The investigation has been done in 2004 in IAgEng LUA institute's experimental field when harvesting the red clover species 'Liepsna' yield by combine SR 500 with the stripper header, and without it. The biometrical red clover indexes were examined. The agrotechnical, energetic parameters, the costs of harvesting one hectare, fuel consumption were determined while stripping-threshing and cutting-threshing the red clover. While stripping-threshing the red clover, the dependence of red clover seed losses during the stripping and threshing-separating procedure on working speed of combine SR 500 and the revolution of stripping drum was explored. The rational revolution of stripping drum for red clover is 500 min sup-1. During comparative researches it was established the dependence of red clover cutting threshing-separating and total red clover seed losses on working speed of combine. In comparison with basic red clover harvesting technology, the output of combine SR 500, using stripping-threshing technology, increases to 2 times, 39 % of fuel is saved and the harvesting cost per ha decreases round 57 EUR
