Thermoluminescence (TL) analysis was conducted to detect irradiation treatment for the fresh Korean ginseng referred to as "Susam". The samples were irradiated at 1.0, 3.0, 5.0, and 7.0 kGy using a ∨60Co gamma irradiator. A Thermoluminescence Reader (TLD) was set initially at 50℃, then the temperature was ramped from 50℃ to 320℃ at a heating rate of 6℃/sec and the samples were annealed at 320℃ for 10 sec. The first glow curves for the irradiated samples showed typical glow curves with peaks generated at 180-200℃.
