Correlation and Combining Ability Related to Growth and Flowering Characteristics in F₁ Hybrids by Diallel Cross of Primula polyantha
2005
Song, C.Y. (Korea National Agricultural College, Hwasung, Republic of Korea)
This study was conducted to determine correlation and combining ability of plant height, plant width, leaf number, leaf length, leaf width, days to flowering, peduncle length, floret diameter, and number of florets in 15 F₁ crosses made from the partial six-parent diallel cross in Primula polyantha. The plant height and number of floret showed highly positive correlations with plant width, peduncle length, and number of leaves. The mean squares of general combining ability (GCA) and specific combining ability (SCA) were highly significant for all the investigated characteristics.
