The study was conducted to investigate the changes of the calcium (Ca) content in the leaves of 'Nishimurawase' and 'Fuyu' persimmon trees (persimmon kaki L.) during growth and development, and the effect of foliar spray of calcium chloride (CaCl₂). The effect of calcium concentration in persimmon trees leaves and fruits at harvest, fruits quality of 'Fuyu' persimmon at harvest, at 70 days and 140 days during modified atmosphere (MA) torage, examined after foliar spraying of calcium chloride at a rate of 400 mgㆍkg-¹ Ca and calcium chloride (400 mgㆍkg-¹ Ca) with adjuvant (amino aicd, phytic acid and wood vinegar) at a rate of 1 gㆍkg-¹. The calcium concentration in 'Nishimurawase' and 'Fuyu' persimmon trees leaves were increased during their vegetative growth, which were higher in the leaves of 'Nishimurawase' than 'Fuyu' persimmon.
