This research evaluates competitiveness of companies using main indicators that characterise macroeconomic and innovative potential. The research shows that government needs to choose appropriate politics and to make advised and evaluated decisions and the most adequate investments in science, technology and development in order to stimulate the development of innovative products. The new GIS technologies provide a possibility and good bases to develop new innovative and competitive products. In addition in developing and implementing an enterprise GIS system in the organisation one can see the return of investment in the shortest time. The decision making process, work order flow is improved and put into order, simultaneously GIS provides the possibility to analyse and research any options and possible business scenarios quickly and efficiently.
