A study was conducted to evaluate the effect of NPK on canola grainyield and net income at Agricultural Research Institute, D.I. Khan during1999-01. Different combinations of N at the rate of 0, 60 and 120; P2O5 atthe rate of 0, 45, 90; and K2O at the rate of 0, 75 and 150 kg ha-1 wereused in RCB design with three replications on canola cv. Dunkled. Highestmean grain yield (877 kg ha-1) was recorded at 60-90-75 kg NPK ha-1,which was followed, by 60-45- 0 kg NPK ha-1 with grain yield of 830 kgha-1. The lowest grain yield (343 kg ha-1) was recorded at 0-45-75 kg NPKha-1. Results indicated that both N and P were limiting while K wasadequate for canola yield. The highest mean net income (Rs. 9981 ha-1) wasobserved at 60- 45-0 kg NPK ha-1, which was 44.8 percent higher thancontrol. However, the net income remained lower than control at 0-45-75,60-45-150 and 12045-75 kg NPK ha-1, which might be due to highexpenditure and less response at these levels. Like higher grain yield, thenet return was also higher during the year 1999-00 as compared to theyear 2000-01. It can be concluded from the present study that acombination of 60-45-0 kg NPK ha-1 is optimum level both in term of grainyield and net income for canola under D.I. Khan condition.
