Gender participation in crop production activities

The present study was designed to investigate the involvement ofrural women in crop production activities. For this purpose, 120respondents from district Attock already engaged in food securityactivities were randomly selected. Data were collected through a pre-tested interview schedule and then analyzed through SPSS. The studyresults indicated that rural women were involved in food productionactivities such as wheat and vegetable production on the family farms.They were also actively involved in food storage and security relatedactivities such as cleaning of wheat for milling, cleaning of store roomsetc. This research study highlighted the need to further explore theiraccess to non-formal educational resources concerning agriculture andhome economics with special reference to food production, and storage.
