Study of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Khon Kaen University section I: The careers of the 6th and the 7 th graduates

From 1992-1999, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Khon Kaen University have produced 298 graduates which are 209 males (70.13 percent) and 89 females (29.87 percent). The percentage of male 6th graduates (Vet 56) are 75.51 and female are 24.49, while the percentage of male 7th graduates (Vet 57) are 77.19 and female are 22.81. The duration of studying for veterinary graduate are 6 academic years, according to curriculum, the 6th and 7th graduates taking 6 years for graduation are 93.88 and 91.24 percent respectively. The percentage of the 6th graduates taking 7 years and 8 years for graduation are 4.08, 2.04. For the 7th graduates of the percentage graduates taking 7 years, 8 years and 9 years for graduation are 5.26, 1.75 and 1.75 respectively. The 6th and 7th graduates work in livestocks or others involving veterinary careers about 90.47 percent. These population are 93.88 percent of the 6th graduates and 87.22 percent of the 7th graduates. The other 9.43, 6.12 percent of the 6th graduates and 12.28 percent of the 7th graduates, work in other different careers which are not involving veterinary work. The 6th graduates working in government sector are 30.62 percent, while only 1.75 percent of the 7th graduates work with the government. The 7th graduates working in the private sector are 38.60 percent and practicing in veterinary clinic are 43.80 percent. Differently, The percentage of the 6th graduates working with the private and veterinary clinic are 24.49 and 32.05 respectively. The 7th graduates were be able to get more job in the animal product agenta, comparing to the 6th graduates, because of the economic problems occurred in Thailand in the year of the 6th graduation.
