Effects of silicon on yield and nutrient uptake of rice and corn grown on acid sulfate soil, Ongkharak series, was studied. The experimental results indicated that the application of Si either in the form of CaSiO3 or rice hull to rice and corn grown on acid sulfate soil, Ongkharak series resulted in better growth rate, higher yield of rice and corn and higher N, P and K absorption than the control (without silicon). Application of silicon increased the total number of spikelets per pot and decreased the percentage of unfilled grain resulting in increasing rice yield than without silicon.
