Changes of chlorophylls content (Chl a + b) and soluble sugars in leaves of Cerasus Mill. plants at the in vitro rhizogenesis stage and ex vitro adaptation stage on peat and ion-exchange substrates in course of 32 weeks were studied. The influence of adaptation substrates and plant genotypes on the activity of photosynthetic pigment synthesis was marked. Research results showed that plant resistance to dehydration in stress situation (transfer from in vitro to ex vitro conditions) was concerned with the changes in sugar concentration. Decreasing of monosugars concentration and increasing of sucrose content furthered the increasing of regenerants resistance to dehydration and further increasing of quantity of the survived regenerants in ex vitro conditions. Research results of changes in synthesis of soluble sugars showed that monosugars and sucrose content indicated the plant physiological stress after culture in vitro
