[Substantiation of the efficiency criteria of application of the artificial sprinkling irrigation]

The basic requirements and the conditions of the effective application of sprinkling irrigation were described, the calculation and graphic dependences for the determination of characteristics of the artificial rain were showed, indices of the quality of natural rains were specified, and the similar parameters of various irrigating devices were analyzed. Research results showed that for the determination of the optimal parameters of mobile sprinkling irrigation arrangements it was necessary to take into consideration both the generally accepted characteristic of artificial rain such as intensity, drops size, evenness of distribution over irrigation area and the rain concentration, volumetrical distribution of drops, pressure of liquid of soil. It was necessary to strive for the lowering of the intensity and increasing of evenness of rain distribution over the irrigating area. The criteria of the efficiency of application of artificial sprinkling irrigation were proposed. Sprinkling irrigation machines should have not exceeded the gradation heavy rain. The importance of the observed criteria for the optimization of irrigating devices for the increasing the ecological quality of rain was noted. Research results showed that mobile drum-hose type water-sprinklers corresponded to the standard criteria and provided the rain intensity (the main integrant criterion) within 0,28–0,36 mm/min
