Research results of the degree of heavy metals transition in the chain soil – plant (forage, ration) – animal – animal products (milk) depending on soil and climatic conditions of different regions of Ulyanovsk region of Russian Federation. Determination of chemical composition and sustenance of forages used for dairy cows feeding, content of heavy and toxic metals (zinc, copper, lead, cadmium, mercury, nickel, chrome and arsenic) in forages and calculation of the average weighted rations taking into consideration the amount of heavy metals were realized. Average daily consumption of zinc, copper, lead, cadmium, nickel, chrome, mercury and arsenic by the lactating cows in different soil and climatic conditions were presented. Calculation of the coefficients of heavy metals transition from the forages into cow milk depending on the season the year was realized. Research results showed that in winter confinement conditions and in summer pasture grazing conditions the coefficients of zinc, copper, lead, cadmium, nickel and chrome from forages into milk lowered in case of increasing of their content in forages. On the contrary, the coefficients of mercury and arsenic transition from forages into milk increased. Research results proved that the exceeding maximum permissible concentration (MPC) and other critical indices of heavy metals background were not revealed in the soil cover of the studied region. The average content of cadmium and chrome in soils on 3,1-3,5 times exceeded the regional background, concentration of zinc and copper – on 1,9-2,1 times, concentration of lead and nickel - on 19-51%. Exceeding MPC of cadmium (1,5-2,1%), nickel (18,7-37%) and chrome (3-3,5%) was revealed in forages. Zinc content in milk exceed MPC on 1,6-14,6%
