Woody vegetation analysis was carried out along Kombolcha-Mile western Rift Valley escarpment. The study was based on systematic sampling of the vegetation by establishing seventy 20x20 m releves. A total of 216 species belonging to 61 families were identified and described. Woody species were counted while relative density and important value index of the dominant woody species were calculated. Invasive species were identified from the area. The results of species diversity showed that communities at higher altitudes are species rich, while richness decreased down elevation gradient. Anthropogenic factors and their impacts on the natural vegetation of the region were assessed and measures to overcome the negative effects were recommended. Most of the vegetation was found highly disturbed except along inaccessible steep slopes, few protected and privately owned areas.
