In June of 2003 caseous lymphadenitis was diagnosed in a commercial small scale sheep flock in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County (in Northern Hungary). The morbidity rate was 9.5%, because 10 of 105 ewes (2-5 years old) showed clinical symptoms. The other animals, including 2 breeding rams and 28 weaned lambs, in the flock were symptomless.
