Study on the effects of fertilizer on rapeseed yield increasing in dryland condition

Effects of different nitrogen and potassium fertilizer rates on growth and grain yield of 3 rapeseed (Brassica napus L. ssp. napus) lines in dryland condition were studied from 2001 to 2003 in dryland agricultural research station in Maragheh. The experiment was set up with factorial arrangement with RCBD design with three rapeseed varieties namely 1-Landrace, 2- PF and 3- Cutlass, with two potassium levels (30 and 60 kg K2O. ha-1) and three nitrogen levels (30, 60 and 90 kg N. ha-1) with four replications. According soil test Phosphorus applied 50 kg.ha-1 P2O5 in all treatments. Nitrogen fertilizer was ammonium nitrate, Phosphorus fertilizer was Triple phosphate and potassium fertilizer was Solphate potassium.Plant height , seed yield ,Biomass yield and TKW were observed and determined. After harvest analysis the results showed that increasing nitrogen rates increased grain and biomass yield in three rapeseeds differently. Also plant heights were significantly differed among varieties. Nitrogen N3 (90 kg N.ha-1) compared to N30 and 60 produced maximum grain yield (1039 kg. ha-1) but Nitrogen N2 (60 kg N.ha-1) produced maximum biomass (4018 kg. ha-1). It was found that increasing N fertilizer delayed flowering stage slightly with increasing N rates, but did not affect plant heights. It can be concluded that rapeseed grain yield differed at different levels of nitrogen. In addition, rapeseed varieties responses to nitrogen application rate of 90 kgN.ha-1 differently. However, potassium fertilizer did not increase grain and biomass yield. Intraction of V3 (Cutlass), N90 and p60 had the max grain yield (1381 kg. ha-1).
