Project final report cultivars and the effect of Determination of salt tolerance degree rapeseed of saline waters on yield and oil content of tolerant cultivars

In order to determine the salt tolerance degree of rapeseed cultivars during germination, dry matter of established seedlings and selection of tolerant ones, 8 cultivars: (V1= ACSN1, V2=Falkon, V3= Shirali, V4= Ceres, V5= Tower, V6= Kobra, V7= Global, V8= Oyerka) and 4.0 water salinity levels (S0= 1.0, S1= 4.0, S2= 8.0 and S3=12 dS.m -1 ) a factorial experiment was conducted in Lab and greenhouse for a period of one year. All treatment were studied through a Compleletey Randomized Desigh and replicated 4.0 times. The results showed that each of the studied factors: salinity, cultivar and their interaction has a highy significant effect on germination percent and dry matter of all cultivars. On the basis of data analysis, the percent of seed germination for three cultivars of ACSN1, Falkon and shirali at water salinities of S1 were 97, 97 and 95at S2 were 94, 90 and 90and at S3 wrer 86, 80 and 75, relative to S0 respectively. And the percent of seedling dry matter of these cultivars, relative to S0, at S1 were 92, 72 and 43at S2 were 86, 63 and 32, and at S3 were 81, 44 and 22 respectively. Therefore, these three cultivars were selected for field experment. These 3 cultivare were cultivated in the farms (in Sarvestan city) at 4 salinity levels of irrigation water (S0=2.0, S1=50, S2=8.0 and S3=11 dS.m -1 ) in order to study their seed yield and oil content. The experiment was factorial, and there were 12 treatments which were studied as a completely Randomized. Block Design and replicated 3 times, for a period of 2.0 years. The amount and frequency of irrigation was the same for all treatments. The result of the experiment showed that the salinity and cultivar had a significant effect on yield and oil content of seeds, but their interaction effect was insignificant. The experiment revealed that two cultivars: ACSN1 ans Shirali can tolerate EC of up to 8.0 dS.m -1 , but the Falkon cultivar can only withstand EC of up to 5.0 dS.m -1 . And the field trail also showed that the Falkon cultivar, which was tolerant in the primary germination and dry matter experiment, is a sem- tolerant cultivar.
