Study and comparison on yield in red been varieties (Phaseohus Vulgaris)
2004
Salehi, Foroud | Sahragard, Naser | Sadeghi, Ahmad Reza
In this experiment, 8 lines of red bean (Selected from preliminary experiment in 2000 and A-test in 2001) and 2 cultivar Akhtar and Sayyad (two control) were conducted in RCB design in 2002. In 2003, area test was conducted with 5 lines and 2 cultivar. Each line and cultivar planted in row spacing 50 cm and 10 cm between plants. In growth season period, weed control, irrigation, fertilizing, pest and disease controls were conducted. Number of pod per plant, seed number per pod, lOO-seed weight and yield were measured. Results showed that Sayyad cultivar had the highest seed per pod (5.1667), that significantly different than other lines. However, line ARS-R93003 had the highest pod per plant, no different than other lines and cultivars. Akhtar cultivar had the highest lOO-seed weight (44.59 gr). Line ARS-R93003 had the highest seed yield in two locations (3566.1 kglha) that had no difference with 89:222R, BRB 188 lines and Sayyad cultivar. Genetic different and diversity between lines and cultivars is concluded to different between yield of lines and cultivars. Path analysis is concluded that number of pod per plant has notable effect on red bean seed yield.
