In order to elucidate of effect of nitrogen and phosphorous on morphology, yield and qualitative characteristics of sugar beet polygerm seed 7233, this study carried out 1998-2001 in Ardabil agricultural research station(Alarough). Experiment was carried with two factors including of nitrogen in 4 levels(control, 100, 200 and 300 Kg N/ha) and phosphorous in 3 levels(control, 100 and 200 Kg P2O5/ha) at four replications based on complete randomized blocks. Each plot was formed 8 rows at length of 10 meters with 65 cm between space. Results showed that only 100-200 kg/ha nitrogen application was conducted of assimilates to economical sinks and application of more than was decreased of harvest index. Application of nitrogen and phosphorous did not significant effects on raw and saleable seed yield. But, application of nitrogen significantly (0.01) effects the standard and viable seed yield, so that standard and viable seed yield was statistical same in control to 200 Kg N/ha and consumption of 300 Kg N/ha was reduced until 833 Kg/ha. Nitrogen application significantly (0.05) increased of unkernel seed percent and decreased of seed mechanical viability. Although, the nitrogen did not effects on portion of seeds with 4.5 mm diameter, increase in nitrogen application was increased of 3.5 mm seed portion. Application of phosphorous significantly(0.05) effects on 3.5-4.5 mm seed portion and decreased of this portion seeds.
