Date is one of the major agriculture products in Kerman. The important date growing tracts in Kerman are Bam , Shahdad and Jiroft. In Iran and the most parts of the world, water is a limited factor for agricultural products , so deficit irrigation can be one of the management options to save water. To determine the impacts of defict irrigation on quality indices and yield of Date palm a study was conducted in a Randomized Complete Blocks with 4 replicates and 4 treatments for 4 years. In this study, four irrigation levels including : 60, 80, 100,and 120 percent evaporation from class A evaporation Pan were applied in a date palm orchard located in Bam’s Azizabad Region. In september after harvesting , the morphological properties (length, width and weight of date fruit and pit), yield and the chemical properties (moisture content , total soluble solids , acidity content and sugar content) of date fruits were measured . The results showed that the effect of trees’s age on yield and other quality wasn’t significant. The statistical analysis of the data indicated that treatment’s effect on yield was significant and on other qualities wasn’t significant. The 80 percent evaporation treatment lead to the maximum yield while the 60 percent evaporation treatment produced the minimum yield. There is no significance difference between yield of 80, 100, and 120 percent treatments. Water use efficiency for 80 percent treatment was more than the other treatments and can be recmmended for date palm irrigation management in Bam Region.
