Date palm is one of important and strategic agricultural crops. Based on FAO 2002 report, the area under productive date palm estimated to be 1100000 ha with 6135000 tons of total yield, Date palm is cultivated in the five continent but 99 percent of cultivated area and total yield is come from Asia and Africa. more than 85% of total yield received from Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. The amount nutritional chemical supplied to the plant will affect their concentration in plant parts. It is a general believe when concentration of nutritional element or elements reduced to below certain level causing yield reduction, this specific level of nutrition element is called as critical level. Concentration of each nutrient element in different plant parts varies with physiological age and plant part. Nepenthes less, result obtained from past research work introduces the best plant part and sampling time to estimate nutritional element critical levels for most of Agronomic and horticultural crops. But the same is not done yet, in the case of date palm. Therefore an experiment with the aims. 1 . to present a model for date palm lifter sampling and to assign the proper leaf number numbers for sampling and chemical analysis. 2 . to determine macro and micro nutritional element status in different leaves of date palm. In order to gain the above goals, three date palm trees var. sayer leaves, were numbered from top leaf watch handle moving direction at reproductive stage of growth the leaf lets from middle of each leaf were sampled and concentration of nutritional element were estimated. Normal distribution of these date were tested. Duncan test indicated that the first row leaves (leaf no. 1-3) were the best to measure P, K and cu concentration like wise seventh row for N and Fe, Ninth row for mg and 10 th row for Ca, Mn, and Zn measurement considered too be the best leaves. The correlation test exhibited highly significant and positive relation ship between individual nutrient concentration at the best leaves and that of second row leaves there for it is reasonable to report that the second row leaves with exception to nitrogen are most appropriate for sampling and estimation of individual nutritional element. ‘Expert at Date palm and tropical fruit institute of Iran.
