Development and evaluation of a mounted spinning disk sprayer in comparison with the conventional tractor mounted boom sprayers

One of the important aims of spraying is equal distribution and size of drops on the crop, herbicide , low consumption, effective operation, low costs and reducing danger and environmental pollutions. In recent years, new methods for spraying operation has been discovered to replace conventional nozzeles with spinning disk nozzles . In this study a tractor mounted spinning disk sprayer constructed and then this machine compared with conventional boom sprayer. On remove sugar beet weeds in Dezfool , region. Experimental factors were herbicide consumption rates( Gallant herbicide with 3lit/ ha.), number of weeds in plots after spraying , distribution and diameter of drops on the sensetive card and construction costs. Experimental design was randomize complete block design (RCBD) with three treatments and three replications. Results proved that there wasn’t a significant different between spinning disk sprayer and conventional sprayer in order to weed removement at 1% level ,but There was a significant different between spraying methods and no spraying treatment (after 20and 25 days). There was significant different between the spinning disk sprayer and conventional sprayer in spect to herbicide consumption in 1% level but there wasn’t any significant different between spraying method with spinning disk sprayer and no spraying treatment. Volume mean diameter (VMD) and number median diameter( NMD) was 242.6micron and 116micron. and spraying quality coefficient was 2.08 respectively This result shows quality spraying was high. In conventional boom sprayer and spinning disk sprayer herbicide mean consumption was 319. and 6.5lit/ ha, respectively. Construction cost of spinning disk sprayer was about half of conventional sprayer.
