Preliminary evaluation of protein requirements of Dover sole (Solea solea) juveniles

[Three isolipid (15% DM) diets, characterized by growing levels of protein (A:55; B: 60; C: 65% DM) were studied in two experimental trials carried out in a fish farm (initial live weight 2.5 +- 1.32 g) and in the experimental aquarium of DIAN (initial live weight 0.79 +- 0.03 g). In the second trial a commercial feed was also tested. Each diet was tested with four replications and feed was supplied three times every day. In the first trial, final live weight (4.4, 4.5 and 6.1 g) and IGR were improved (P0.05) with increase of protein content, while survival rate (97.54%) was not affected. In the second trial, no significant differences were observed between diets, which gave worse performances than commercial diet. The results suggest that optimum protein level seems to be about 65% DM for fingerlings weighing 2.5 g.]

Sono state formulate tre diete isolipidiche (15% SS), caratterizzate da livelli crescenti di proteina (A: 55; B: 60; C: 65% SS) che si utilizzarono in due prove condotte la prima presso uno stabilimento commerciale (peso iniziale: 2,5 +- 1,32 g) e la seconda (peso iniziale: 0,79 +- 0,03 g) presso gli acquari del DIAN. In quest´ultima venne anche provato un mangime commerciale. Ogni dieta venne testata con 4 ripetizioni per tesi e l´alimento veniva distribuito tre volte al dì. Nella I prova, il peso vivo finale (4,4, 4,5 e 6,1 g) e il TAS (1,0; 1,1 e 1,6%) migliorarono (P0,05) al crescere del tenore proteico, mentre la % di sopravvivenza (97,54%) non ne risentì. Nella seconda non si notarono differenze significative tra le tre diete, che diedero prestazioni significativamente peggiori della dieta commerciale. Dai risultati ottenuti il livello proteico ottimale sembra collocarsi attorno al 65% di SS per avannotti di 2,5 g di peso
