Main directions for influencing the endogenous regional development in Latvia

In the paper the problems of social and economic development levelling in Latvia are viewed. A special attention is focused on the necessity to use of endogenous factors of local potential development in rural regions. Experience of regional levelling of the EU States is analyzed as well as opportunity of its use in the realities of Latvia. The existing mechanism of the Latvian regions development levelling does not fully provide the necessary financing due to the absence of inner stimuli for economic development of regions, therefore for stimulation of levelling process it is suggested paying more attention to the endogenous factors of development.
