The aim of the work was to analyse the values of animal size and fur quality in minks of standard and sapphire types. Colour type and animal sex had a statistically significant influence on the majority of the analysed features, except for colour purity. Higher means of licence valuation of animal size, fur quality and total number of scores was obtained by sapphire type. Higher values for colour purity were obtained by standard type. The higher means observed in sapphire type prove the adaptation to the breeding conditions in Poland. Consequently, the herds of this type should be enlarged. The animal size and total number of scores proportionally had the highest mean values 91.3-97.8 percent and 90.0-93.3 percent of maximum estimation of features, respectively. The variability of features, measured by variability coefficient was 16 percent for colour purity, 15 percent for fur quality and about 13 percent for animal size. The lowest variability was observed for the total number of scores and it was about 6 percent
