Variability of grain protein content of malting barley cultivars depending on plant nitrogen nutrition status
2005
Pecio, A. (Instytut Uprawy Nawozenia i Gleboznawstwa, Pulawy (Poland))
The purpose of the study was to determine the differentiation of spring malting barley cultivars in utilization of nitrogen stored in vegetative parts of plants for realization of grain yield and its quality. Studied cultivars did not differ significantly for grain yield, although cultivar Scarlett tended to give a higher yield. Cultivars were differentiated for protein content. Among studied cultivars Scarlett signalized the biggest grain yield, the smallest grain protein content and the best ability of nitrogen utilization during vegetative growth
