Effect of phosphorus rate, fertilizer type and method of fertilization on the yield of maize cultivated for grain
2005
Kruczek, A. | Szulc, P. (Akademia Rolnicza, Poznan (Poland). Katedra Uprawy Roli i Roslin)
Four doses of phosphorus: 40, 70, 100 and 130 kg P2O5/ha, two fertilizer types and two methods of fertilization: broadcast as well as band application with fertilizer placed 5 cm of the side and 5 cm below the seeds were tested in field experimentation during 2000-03. The starting fertilization with ammonium phosphate increased the yield of grain by about 2.67 dt/ha in relation to broadcast fertilization. The method of fertilization, fertilizer type and doses of phosphorus did not influence weight of 1000 grains and the number of grain per cob
